MIX Gallery Group Show – Onomatopoetic: Music Made Visible
Art and music are intertwined and deeply connected in their ability to communicate without words. MIX Gallery Group Show – Onomatopoetic: Music Made Visible will highlight artwork that has been solely inspired by a piece of music, thus a visible representation of a musical work. Each artist will be asked to provide a statement of up to 200 words expressing the process and inspiration for their piece, which will be displayed alongside their work.

An opening reception in honor of the artists will coincide with the September First Friday Ypsilanti event:
Nibbles & Bubbly will be served

MIX Gallery Group Show – Onomatopoetic: Music Made Visible is open to all artists living, working or producing their art in Washtenaw County. Each artist can submit 1 or 2 pieces that have been inspired by a specific piece of music. Entries of both 2D and 3D that can be hung on the wall will be accepted for consideration. Please include the title, the specific music that inspired the work, media size, a short paragraph (200 words max) explaining the inspiration of the work. There is no fee to enter or be part of this exhibit. The show will run through the month of September at Mix Gallery (Mix receives 50% of the sales made during the show)
